Gift Wrapping

Yesterday I spent the whole evening gift wrapping presents for my sister in law's new baby. She was born last sunday. We went for a visit the same day but because I didnt bought any presents yet {we didn't knew if it would be a girl or a boy} we'll be visiting them tomorrow again!
I printed out little tags that together spell out the little girls name. Each tag was then glued together with a scalloped circle made out of tissue paper on a each present. Then I wrapped the package with bakers twine and voila a basket filled with sweet presents!

I'm still alive! Barely, but alive.

Juggling work, family, home, a two year old {who, when winter arrives is sick at least once a month} and a teenybit of me-time {which includes my scrapping 'duties'} is sometimes hard... I think I need to take a serious look at all of this. In the meantime enjoy my little pink {yes pink!} table arrangement:

I took this picture before I suspected little guy might be allergic to them {coughing everytime he was near them} so unfortunately I moved them to the study {the smell is so wonderfully amazing mmmmmm...}

Last sunday was a beautiful fall day so we went for a walk in a nearby forest. Hmmm... love the smell of freshly fallen leaves and damp soil... I decided to bring my 'good camera' and lens to capture little guy but he decided to only RUN towards me so most pictures turned out like this:

A Helping Hand...

On the 25th of september 2010 the daughter of our friend Mary suddenly died after suffering a seizure and going into cardiac arrest at the age of just seventeen...

Some of the best digital scrapbooking designers have come together to create a collab to help Mary cover the cost of her daughters hospital bills and funeral. Charity Collaboration

Hmmmm.... I've been neglecting this blog a little! But I have a good excuse {I think} because I've been bussy preparing for little guy's birthday which was TODAY!!! Yes two years already! The real celebrating will be this sunday with friends and family. Get ready to be spoild rotten kiddo... ;-}

On a more serious note I want to get your attention to a Charity Collaboration by MScraps and 9th & Bloom designers: 'Overflow with Beauty'.

Beauty is an all-pervading presence. A Bit Of Everything

This was my first week at work after a 3 week holiday and it was... How shall I put this: interesting.... But I won't bore you with the details! I didn't have a lot of time to scrap unfortunately because little guy became sick last saturday. He developed a very high fever, luckily after three days everything seemed to be okay again {I suspect the three day fever because after the three days he developed a rash all over his chest and back}. I've also been busy planning his second birthday, buying presents etc. etc.

Anyhow, I want to show you some layouts I made using Three Paper Peonies new kit Mama Bear, it's such a cute kit, I love it! Available as of today and will be 20% off thru the weekend.

Nice Stuffs :-}

This past week has really flown by... Can't believe it's friday already! This was my last week free from work and although you might think I would have had plenty of time to scrap I must dissapoint you {correction ME!}. Bummer because there where enough great kits to play with {which I did but not as intensely as I would have liked}.

First of there is this really sweet collab kit by Scooty's Designs and Charlize Creations called 'An Artist at Heart' This kit is about being creative in a romantic kind of way. All in a romantic artistic theme. It's super cute but because I only have one boy I made a RAK for Trina!

The second kit is 'Time Slips Away' by EH Designs. I think Elisa says it so wonderfully: "Lately I've been scanning older pictures from my family so my mind has just been on memories and hearing stories from the past and just on the fleeting quality of time. I wanted this kit to in someway express a remembrance for yesterday's stories and the beauty of our individual heritages".

Finally the last two layouts are made with the gorgeous kit 'Sugar Heart' by the über talented Three Paper Peonies. It's for all those sweet moments and people in our lives. I adore the color combinations in this kit!

Beach Boys

It has been rather quiet here the past week but that's mainly because we have had some days of and many of them were spent outside. Especially to the beach, little guy loves it there {just like his mom}. Not to sit quietly with a little scoop and bucket, but running around with your nose in the wind to smell the wonderful sea air! Of course we took {well it's usually me behind the camera} a lot of pictures and here is my favorite picture of the moment: my two guys ;-} :

Fortunately, I had some time to do some layouts too. I don't know if I had already reported but I am now a member of the CT of Scooty's Designs and I immediately fell in love with her latest kit! 'A Drift in Dreams' is a collaboration with Designs by Anita and is simply gorgeous. Here are two layouts made with this kit, available at MScraps. The kit will be 25% off until sunday. The first one is very dear to my heart: it shows me feeding my little guy when he was about 4 months.

Petting Zoo 'Adventures'

This morning we went to the petting zoo, an adventure all in itself... Little guy fell approximately every other 5 minutes, was nearly gored by goats {or where they sheep?}. And to top it all off had a {actual several} tantrum {s} that could win him an Oscar...The original plan was to go to the big zoo, about a 45 minute drive. I'm sooo glad we decided on just the petting zoo... I blame everything on the lack of sleep he had yesterday, for the first time he skipped his afternoon nap and although he had a good night's sleep I think that might be the cause of his delightful temper today... Of course, a little cooperation in front of the camera was a bit too much to ask for on a day like this! ;-}

The last few days I've been scrapping like crazy! Every free minute I've spend behind the computer {resulting in quite a painful lower back...} I really felt like a kid in the candy store! Maybe....

Yesterday afternoon I got an e-mail from Mscraps.... I was neither on the NO or on the definitive YES list.... That meant I had to make a new layout and give it my best shot! The girls at MScraps where so generous as to give everyone on the MAYBE list a pick of one of the store collaborations! I picked 'Fortunate'.

I started to make a layout I thought the CT wanted to see rather making something that I loved.
Then I remembered this little saying:

~ Be yourself, there are so many others ~

So I started creating a layout that I love to make: not too much fuss and with some cute little details {made cute flowers with a ribbon, bras button and stitches where the stems would be}. This is the result, take it or leave it, it's me!

Because I love this kit so much I couldn't stop there and made another one {a bit more relaxed ;-} this afternoon...

Oh my... If you're interested in joining a creative team this is definitely the time to do so! Only a few days ago Paislee Press anounced her fabulous new team. Three Paper Peonies is still sorting through {I can imagine gazillions} applications.... I'm keeping my fingers crossed...

Blossoming Friendship

Yesterday a couple of little guy's friends {and their moms ;-} came over for a little get together at our house. It was beautiful weather so we could ~~sit~~ run after the kids in the garden. The kids had a great time and a certain someone was really hitting it off with the only little female in the group:

No easy task to get everyone to stay put for more dan 3 seconds, this was the only one I took that was in focus and had everyone in frame...

Hmmmm... Little guy is not really feeling to well and as every parent knows that means mom and dad don't get much sleep either. He's got a great {sigh} combo: serious cold and an emerging tooth that's bothering him as well. Because of this I didn't get much time scrapping but managed to set up my gallery at Two Peas. Also made a layout using Scrap Original's 'Everyday'. Love this kit!!!

Little guy not so little anymore...

In exactly two months time our little guy is turning two already! I never thought I would say this but the last year flew by... The first year really was a time of adjusting to motherhood, I can safely say that it was the most challenging year in my life. Struggling with a baby that cried most of his waking hours (which where way too many for his age) for the first four months of his life and after that coping with PPD. Then a baby that seemed to be sick constantly and refused to drink AT ALL for days (thank goodness for the eartube operation at 14 months), the list goes on and on...
Thankfully those days are behind us (I know there will be challenging times in the future but I try to enjoy the NOW for ehm now...).
Anyway, in two months time little guy will leave the baby-group at the daycare centre and join the toddler-group! There already have been some 'get-to-know the new group sessions' and you seem to really like being around the older kids! Our little guy is not so little anymore, sigh...

I'm sooo in love with this picture I took this afternoon of little guy playing in his new 'garage' filled with plastic balls {in Dutch we call these things a ballentent...}
I played around in Photoshop with my new 'Spring' action sets from Flora Bella and was pretty impressed on how they turned out! I have yet to deside which I like better...

Oh boy.... It seems that Blogger has got a mind of it's own! Instead of editing some pictures I took this afternoon I'm fiddling with my about page which is finally working as I'm typing this. But I cannot seem to comment on my own blog! What the * is that?!

New glasses

Drinking moments

My little guy is a poor drinker. From when he was about six months (I breastfed until 7 months) he regularly had earinfections which made him refuse to drink anything for a couple of days. When he was only 14 months he got tubes placed in his ears and the drinking got a littlebit better, but he's still is a poor drinker.
For now, we got a little routine established: around 9.30 in the morning I take little guy upstairs and we sit in front of the computer screen watching Teletubbies (thank God for Teletubbies, even though they are annoying the ... out of me). This way he drinks almost a bottle of water or juice without barely even noticing it!

I bought a store...

I totally forgot: last week I bought a store... Well I bought a LOT of kits and templates by Joyce Paul Designs, sadly she is taking some time out. Luckily for me and you that means you can buy all her products at MScraps for 10 dollar (excluding collabs)!

Our little guy slept in till 8.00 this morning (and so did we) bliss! Stayed up late last night scrapping and after that I watched a downloaded (shhhhh) episode of Crime Scene Investigation. Although I think Laurence Fishburne is doing a great job as Dr. Raymond Langston I still miss Grissom.
Big guy is taking little guy to buy some fish fries that we will be having for lunch, yummmm!

Pfewww.... another hot and humid day overhere, It's 32 degrees outside so we just keep indoors.
This way I can familiarise myself with the Blogger editor, which I can assure you is no simple task, aaargh frustations, frustrations.... The fact that my Mac seems to be getting slower by the day is not helping either.

A few weeks ago I made it to the new CT for EH Studios. My first ever CT and I'm so happy to be designing for her, she's a sweetheart and I love her kits! I especially adore her latest kit called 'One Sweet World'. The colors are so yummy!!! Available at MScraps. These are some of the layouts I made with it.

In a former life I was a graphic designer. That was a looong time ago but I always kept designing 'stuff'.
Lately I'm thinking about designing some papers or a mini kit. Maybe even start a new little career? Who knows. This evening I made a few wordart stickers(I don't know if that is the proper term for these but who cares). Let me know if you like them and I make them available for download!

I Finally made some changes to the design of the blog and I like it: clean and simple. That is -for now- I probably will make a million changes before my next post but I already told you I was a bit of a neurotic person.
